Tomorrow (Wednesday) we’ll be publishing new app releases for all customer apps on Android and iOS, rounding off our phased preview of these builds.
We’re delivering a ton of new features and improvements that I’m sure will benefit your Appenate powered offerings going forward.
Aside from our ongoing platform improvements, we also have a few important items to share:
New Appenate Support Twitter Handle
In case you weren’t aware, in January we launched our Platform Updates blog to provide details on new releases as these come out.
Today we’ve added a new Twitter handle – @AppenateSupport – which we will be using as our support news feed to announce releases, updates and any support issues.
Following us on Twitter will be the most immediate way to get the latest platform info.

New Billing Automation and Credit Card Payments
To date our approach towards billing and payments has been to accommodate our customers as much as possible. Unfortunately this has led to a number of cases where we have simply not received payment – often months after due dates on invoices – while still supporting daily use of the platform.
As such, we’re now moving to an automated system which will automatically suspend platform access when payment is not received by invoice due date.
Warning emails and notifications will be sent by our system ahead of such impending suspensions to ensure awareness.
The automated system will take effect on 15 August 2015.
If you have outstanding invoices with us, please ensure you settle these ahead of the above date.
To help avoid scenarios where an accounting mishap or payment snag causes suspension drama, we will opening up a new area for you to load a credit card for automated payments.

This will be our preferred payment method going forward; you will still be able to make payments manually via our existing Paypal and direct transfer methods if you prefer.
The credit card area will be released on the platform in the coming weeks, look out for announcements to this effect.
Upcoming Maintenance Downtime
We have some scheduled back-end changes that will be carried out on Saturday, 8 August.
These changes will require some downtime to the platform – at this stage we’re not expecting access to be down for more than an hour.

We’ll post final confirmation of the date and time for the maintenance via our support Twitter feed and Platform Updates blog by the end of this week.
If you have any questions on the above announcements, please feel free to contact us to discuss.
The remainder of this year we’ll be working through major projects such as Windows and Web support on the app side, along with incremental upgrades to various areas in the system.
Our vision of providing the best possible mobility platform remains as strong as ever, and we’re so excited to see what you build on Appenate next!
