February App Update

We’ve just submitted new app updates for Android and iOS for all customers.
This release contains a number of bug fixes and minor improvements that are worth checking out.

Android apps should be available today in Google Play, with iOS apps reflecting in the App Store within the next 7 days.
Below is a list of the notable items in this release:

Process Step support on iOS
Until now the new Process Step field was only available on Android.
Today’s iOS app submission brings full support for this great new field type to Apple devices.
As always, we’re on “Apple time” in terms when apps arrive in the App Store, so keep an eye out for it in the coming days.

New “Collapse Options on Select” property (Form Designer -> Choices fields)
If enabled, the app will automatically hide all other options once the user makes a selection in a Choices field that is displayed as a List of Choices or Auto-Complete.
If the user unselects their chosen item, the hidden options will reappear.
This can be really useful for reducing scrolling in the app when a long list of options is displayed.

Auto-complete searches now return up to 25 matches
Previously the app would limit matches to the first 10 results for performance reasons.
We revisited this aspect and found we could increase the results to 25 without noticeable performance degradation.

Notable Bug Fixes

  • Docs: Uppercase file extensions (Android only)
Fixed issue with Doc files not opening when the file extension was uppercased.
  • Forms: Fixed issues with case sensitivity on context formula functions (e.g. USERFIRSTNAME())

  • Forms: Current page was not being validated when jumping pages via Action buttons.
The “Validate at Form End Only” option is now considered properly prior to jumping.
Note: This may require form design updates if a form was built on the assumption of no page validation when jumping.
  • Forms: Conditional Read Only formulae now refresh immediately in the page
Previously conditional read-only formulae would reflect when reloading or navigating to a new page.
Now the apps will immediately reflect a change in read-only-ness in the page.
  • Tasks: App now reports an In Progress status once the user begins any of the Task activities

Aside from the above we’ve worked hard to add several other bug fixes for particular scenario cases, and added other minor improvements to stability and performance.

We hope you like the new app release and, as always, hit up our support team if you have any issues upgrading to this version.
