Our Richtersveld Release is live! 🌵
Inspired by a remarkable desert landscape in the northwest corner of South Africa, this update brings you the Xero Connector and a slew of handy improvements.
New Features & Improvements
1) XERO Connector
Front and center of this release is our new integration with Xero, a leading cloud-based Accounting Software.
With this Connector, you can:
- Use the Accounting API to streamline invoicing, category tracking, and contact management.
- Manage and transfer files easily with the Files API.
- Access Payroll APIs & handle timesheets.
We believe this integration will help Xero users, both current and future, automate their financial data flow even more – saving tons of time and cutting out all those manual workarounds.
2) New Icons
Until now, you’ve had about 44 icons to play with, offering a nice range to make your Forms more visually appealing and user-friendly. But we’ve taken it up a notch by adding 61 new, carefully selected icons, bumping up the total to 105.
This means EVEN MORE ways to customize your Forms and make them truly yours.
With 105 icons now in your toolkit, you can better match your Forms to their purpose. 📲
3) Populate Gallery Field from Data Source
We’re pleased to announce that the option to link Gallery Fields to Data Sources for dynamic content updates is now live!
Similar to how Table Fields work, you can display a variety of images directly from a Data Source within your App!
Previously, adding or updating images required manual uploads and constant tweaking to keep content current. Now, your gallery will automatically update whenever your connected Data Source is changed – ensuring your App always displays the latest images without any extra effort.
4) Add User Groups To Test Screens
Our platform already lets you put your Forms into test mode and assign individual users to make sure everything runs smoothly before going live.
Now, we’ve taken it a step further! You can now add entire user groups to your test, making it really simple to involve multiple users in the testing process.
This update is perfect for customers who want to thoroughly vet their Forms before launch. You can start with a group of initial developers to test basic functionality. Once they give the green light, bring in a second group to focus on spotting any issues during daily tasks. Finally, add a third, larger group to ensure broad and comprehensive testing.
This staged approach helps you catch potential problems early, resulting in higher-quality Forms that are fully prepared for real-world use.✊🏻
5) Zoom & Pan
We’ve introduced a Zoom & Pan functionality that makes it much easier to navigate large or detailed images during data collection.
For example, when you’re working with complex blueprints on a construction site or reviewing large-scale farm maps, you can zoom in and focus on specific areas, like structural details or boundary lines, without losing clarity. 💪🏻
6) New insights on the Billable Users Page
You’ll see new insights on the Billable Users Page to give you a clearer picture of user activity on your account.
Previously, you could see a breakdown of Premium, Standard, and Grandfathered Users. Now, we’ve expanded this with a User Activity Summary that shows Active and Deactivated Users, plus an Inactive Users Summary that tracks those who’ve been inactive for 3, 6, or 12 months. And for easier data handling, we’ve added an export-to-Excel option!🙂
These updates make it simpler to manage and monitor user engagement. You’ll easily spot who hasn’t been using the App, so you can take action to re-engage them. It’s a handy tool, especially for vendors who need to keep tabs on customer activity and address any issues with inactive users before they escalate.
7) Report of Screen Changes
We’ve implemented a great new improvement in the Form Settings page that gives you more detailed insight into your form version history.
On top of the Version, Status, Created Date, and Last Updated info, you can now see who made those changes, with the new “Last Updated By” field (plus the exact time of the update.)
This update makes it easier to track not only when changes were made, but also who made them, helping you stay on top of edits and improve team accountability.
8) BigQuery Implement Paging
Google limits the amount of data you can pull from a BigQuery Data Source Connector to 20 MB. To help you work around this, we’ve introduced Paging to the connector.
This feature lets you retrieve larger data sets, ensuring smoother data handling and fewer limitations when accessing your information.
9) Update Specific Columns via Datasource API
We’ve also added the ability to update specific columns in a row via the Datasource API without overwriting the entire row.
With this update, you can pinpoint specific fields that need modification while leaving the rest of the data unchanged. Whether you’re updating a status, an assigned task, or any other critical data point, the API allows you to modify just what’s necessary.
10) Retrieve Tasks by External ID via API
On top of that, we’ve updated the Task API so you can retrieve tasks using the External ID. This means quicker access to the exact task you need without digging through your data.
For example, if you’re handling multiple projects, you can pull up a specific task by its External ID in seconds, keeping things moving smoothly.
